I’m Jim Hunter and YourStoryHQ.com is my baby.
I’ve done a lot of different things over my career — writing, design, illustration, video production. I’ve worked in insurance, publishing, big consulting. For a long time, I thought success meant climbing to the next level. But what I eventually realized is that what inspires me most is helping other people tell their story.
I talk to clients, and they tell me all the great stuff they’re doing — the laundry list of what they’ve poured their heart and soul into. What I’m good at is helping them weave those pieces into a structure. A story people will actually remember. A story that resonates.
And it’s never been harder to do than it is today. When I started out, a sharp message and some consistency could cut through. Now the world is constant chatter. We’ve never had more tools or more channels — but with all that choice, everyone just gets louder. And louder doesn’t work anymore. To stand out, you need to say something people will never forget.
The funny thing is, I’m an introvert at heart. For years I believed good work should speak for itself. But I learned the hard way — even the best work goes unnoticed without a clear narrative. That’s why companies, even some of the biggest out there, have paid me to be the steady voice behind the scenes. Helping them and their executives shape their story — and tell it consistently and creatively.
That’s what led me to start Hunter Consulting Solutions and YourStoryHQ.com. At this point, I’m not chasing titles or building a résumé. I’m focused on what I do best: helping clients shape stories that resonate in their markets, resonate with their customers, and resonate inside their teams.
Because at the end of the day… success isn’t about volume. It’s about resonance.
